Critical literacy

Critical literacy is when you question how and why a text was made.

Bias - favouritism t9oward one side rather than the other like im bias over Liverpool over chelsea because i support liverpool

source - Where you get the information/text from.

credible - is it believable can you beleive what this person says or posts. credible is someone you can
trust through information.

Authority - having power and rights over people or other things. or groups. Example a king.

reliable - someone you can trust basically.

perspective - perspective means a point ov view. my perspective toward the boxing fight is that connor
mcgreggor did really well. whereas John's perspevtive is that floyd mayweather did better

Agenda -  your intentions.

manipulate - change someones perspevtive toward something. It could be through text or through your looks and probably more.

Text - text can be some writing or information that your brain receives.

construction - the way that something is put together

representation - the action of speaking or acting on behalf of someone.

stereotype - an idea that is usually oversimplified or innacurate

inclusion - when you include someone into a game or include some word into a text. Inclusion-let it in to whatever your doing or put it into whatever your doing.

exclusion - when you don't include someone or something.

masculine - a man strong tall proud and masculine.

feminine - qualities/appearances traditionly accosiated with female tendancies.

Extention task.

Inclusion in a text.
1. Is the text fair?
2. who is allowed to speak? who is quoted?
3. who would be allowed to read this text and/or view this text and why?
4. what positions, voices and interests are at play in a text.

Exclusion in a text.
1. whos missing in a text?
2. who has been left out?
3. whos views are excluded or privliledged in the text?
4. who is allowed to speak, who is quoted?

Representation in a text?
1. how else could the tex have been written?
2. what view of the world is this text presenting?
3. what  is  real in the text?
4. what kinds of social realities does the text portray?

A music video made in the 70's, Somewhere that's green:

In the music video we saw a stereotypical maid. She wore a poofy dress and makeup just to clean the house up. She had to make everything clean. The Dad of the family was going to work and mowing the lawns outside. There we're also two children in the family, a boy and a girl. At the end of the day they all watched tv and we're happy. everyone was so stereotypical. The dad, the mum and the kids.

Legally blonde:
She was really happy, excited and expressive she was also the centre of attention mostly because she was on stage but even if she wasn't on stage for example school she still would be the centre of attention.

Stop a mate from drink driving:

They we're young and having a party and someone at the party was gonna drive home when he was really drunk so he insisted on him to crash at his place.
