Pasta:

First we filled a pot half full of water and then we poured the pasta inside the pot after the water had come to a boil. We boiled the pasta for 8 minutes. 

Roux Sauce/White Sauce:

We made the roux sauce to go into the pasta so that the flavour wasn't plain. Heres a list of things we made it with.

Cornflour,

butter,

milk, Those were the basic ingrediants to go into a roux sauce but we added Onion and garlic to spice it up a bit.

After all of that there was still one more thing to do. We had to put all of the pasta in a tray with sides im not too sure what it's called. Then we put the roux sauce over the top and then we added some cheese overtop of everything to melt in the oven. 

I think that our group did good the only thing that didn't go our way was that we were a bit late to put the pasta in the oven but we still finished on time. 

Lately, there has been a lot of Toxic Algae in our waterways this is very bad for our environment it effect us a lot here are some reasons, we can no longer swin in rivers safely without getting sick. it also affects some fishes that live in waterways, as they think it is food and tries to eat it, theu could get very sick or even die, 

How To Help kill blue-green algae: herbicide or algaecide may kill the blue-green algae. That might be a good way to help the community out.

If the herbicides get into the waterways witch it will then the fish will not get harmed as we have found out that it is non-toxic towards fish. 

Rock snot/Didymo: rock snot originally grew from Europe and the northwest USA. It is very bad for the waterways as it clogs up rivers and streams and also kills a lot of fish. It has started to spread around the world, It got here from Canada from the bottom of the boats and on people's shoes.

Now to help get rid of Algae. Plant aquatic plants in your Pond/River to help decrease it. Don't feed the fish in the river as the leftovers will mold, and will attract algae.

Tulip

1. What is the scientfic name of our tulip. The sicentfic name of the Tulip is Tulipa.

2. Tulips come from central asia, and was introduced to Europe in the 14th century

We also made orogami in science to make a tulip/tulipa (we are learning about flowers) Heres a photo of the tulip that I made.

The red bit is the pedles

The blue bit is the stalk and the one bit coming off it is a leaf

Getting bugs in science and microscoping them

So in science last week we took a trip to kyle park to collect some bug and water samples to look at under a microscope. We found a worm and a couple of mushrooms, we put them in a bag and me and Dylan were laughing because the worm was eating the mushroom by the looks of it. After we collected our bug samples (Mr Reizinger collected our water samples) we went back to school to leave them overnight in ethonal to let them die peacfully. The next day we came into science to do an experment, the experment was to microscope into the bugs to see what type of cells they had and to have a good close look at them, we found some very intresting things the worm looked like it had alot of small bugs all over it, It could of been bacteria, The mushrooms look really cool aswell it was hard to describe what they looked li   ke.

Weve been learning about gymnastics recently this term inside of P:E

heres a list of things that i can do now and couldn't do before:

backward hip circle,

foward roll on the parralell bars

and everything else i already knew how to do before gymnastics so basically i learnt two new things.

Gymnastics has been pretty fun this term in my opinion.

Chicken Stir Fry

Chicken stir fry

Ingrediants:
sesame oil
veggie selection
2 minute noodles
flavour: sweet chilli etc.

I thought it was okay i didn't really like that lesson that much because the teacher. Because if we make a mistake shell get pretty pissed. And you know, humans make mistakes. Anyway, my food needed more flavour and I had to empty my lunch box out because I forgot my container and act like nothing happened otherwise she probably would of got mad.

But Im sorry to whoever is reading this and thinks that im tryining to roast the teacher. Im not im just saying. (;

Vegetarian Nachos

Vegetarian Nachos.

The other day in home econimics we made vegetarian nachos. In my groop there was Sahana, William, Michaela and me. We used a lot of ingrediants such as sour cream nacho chips at the end and at the start we used heaps of salads. It was pretty good. Instead of mince we used chilli beans.

After the finishing product some visitors/judges came in to observe and taste our food. They thought it was pretty good ours ranked 2nd out of 5 groups.

I thouht we did good as a team the food tasted good, and yea!

Food and Digestion

The food goes in your mouth and as soon as you see the food and get ready to eat your saliva glands pump saliva into your mouth to make a bolus with the food ("Bolus" Latin word for ball) FACT: Did you know that you saliva glands pump out about 1.5 liters of saliva a day. Anyway the bolus goes down the esophagus. While the food/bolus is going down the esophagus it expands and then enters the stomach. the stomach bounces the bolus around and it breaks down the food into more little bits. Then the food goes to the pancreas which pushes the food into the small intestine which turns food into nutrients after that that it goes through to the large intestine which turns food into poo. Then the poo enters the rectum and the rectum pushes the poo to the anus and then you take a poo. Here is a photo of what everything is. 

Greek mythology

I chose Zeus he is my favorite because he is also one of my favorite youtubers and he is the strongest looking, he controls lightning and I don't know the others very well etc. His father swallowed all of his kids, Zeus's brothers and sisters. But his mother saved him because it was her last baby. Zeus hated his dad because he found out that he ate all of his siblings.

Saudi Arabia

Government type: Monarchy. Monarchy means King or Queen instead of president or both.

Dictatorship, Eg: Hitler, Kim Jong Un and Saudi Arabia.

Some rules: Women can't drive at all. You can't leave the country until your 45 or with someone 45 or older, Even on a holiday!

It's easy to make money because all of the jobs are easy to make apply for and easy to make money, you don't have to work that hard.

The king of Saudi Arabia has 31 girlfriends, all of them have no names and most of them are slaves. They also get treated with a lot of disrespect.

I really enjoyed doing this process of learning about Saudi Arabia. I learnt a lot about this government type.

It was a lovely day with me and my friends it was as sunny as the world could ever get. It was just me Charlotte and Jack that was going on a long bush walk. It was lovely. We sat down in the middle of it to have our lunch/picnic. I looked away at a bird I could hear in the background of my two friends talking i looked over to try see Where this mysterious creature was. Ooh! jackpot found it Hey look at this crow guys and it has a bit of red on it's beak! There was no answer, I turned around and both of them were gone. I shouted their names: "Jack!, Charlotte!", still no answer.

suddenly in a very short time it became foggy, It took around about 10 seconds in fact. Suddenly a shrill cry echoed in the mist, the horrible screechy sound traveled through my ears leaving a daunting feeling about what might it be, It sounded like a little girl just broke her arm, it also sounded like Charlotte... So I thought about whether to go into the mist or not It was really foggy at this point of time. I tried to wrap my head around going into the fog. Then I just thought stuff it stuff it i'm going in whether I like it or not. (I didn't like it) I walked into the mist it was very strangely aligned because If you walked into the fog then it would be really cold and damp but when you stepped out it was a normal boiling hot day. I walked slowly into the fog I heard nothing. It was like an awkward silence but except i was shivering in my boots! I just wanted my mum at the moment. I was afraid that I was never going to see her again. She would wonder where I went and what about Charlotte and Jack. Suddenly the awkward silence broke but this time it was an evil laugh It sounded like Jack this time but it was coming from directly behind me, like right behind my head. I turned around so slowly because I didn't want to see What it was. It's was like I was in one of those movies where they turn around real slowly. It was jack he said to me "everything is going to be OK" in a soft calming voice but i didn't find it very calming. I replied What? Sluring the word in panic while huffing and puffing.
He said come with me ill show you something still in a calming voice. I was worried and scared at the same time. I followed him very slowly and carefully, crouch walking looking in all directions at all times in a very cautious way. In a very short time before I started to squint my eyes through the fog as I saw something, It was Charlotte I think. She said "help me!" I could hear shakiness in her voice. I started to run because I saw something holding her very roughly. It told me to stop. It looked like it had a mask on,like those ones that those plague doctors wore! Then out of the blue that same crow with the little bit of red on it's beak glided over to the unpleasant creatures shoulder and sat there. It had very bony hands and pointed at me and said"come over"with his one finger. I didn't listen and started to run, he dropped Charlotte and ran after me He said"Archie"In a very creepily way I then ran faster I was thinking in my head how does he know my name. It happened, he catched me and said quietly in my ear Time for a feast I said NO, LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!! Then I Woke up, Then sat up in my bed very quickly and looked around to see if I was safe. Auuugh I was safe Then I went back to sleep. I had the best dream of my life I was in candyland. I woke up the next day and went to school and told Jack and Charlotte about my dream and they both said that they had the same exact dream but in their perspective. I didn't want to sleep in that bed again!

language features. personification

In English we have recently been learning about language features.

The one that I chose is personification, personification means giving objects or non human thing a human characteristics.

An example Of this his go cart was As faster than Usain Bolt

So from now on I'm going to try use personification As much As possible now.

coke distillation

Aim: Separate water from coke using distillation.



introduction: On Tuesday we did an experiment in science were we had coke in it. We did distillation which means that we separated two mixtures, in this case, we separated water from the coke. The water got removed from the coke by boiling the water.




Method: So first we set up the equipment, then we got to do the experiment which we evaporated the water out of the coke by making steam.

Research blog

1. What is a crystal. A solid material that comes in all different shapes and sizes and there are a lot of different kinds of them such as diamonds etc:

2. How can you make sugar crystals 1. dissolve the sugar in boiling water. 2. add a few drops of food colouring or flavouring if desired. 3. allow the solution to cool a bit before pouring it into your jar. 4. pour the sugar solution into a jar. 5. place the container somewhere it won't be disturbed.

3. How is this separating a mixture.

it is separating the water and the sugar which are both a mixture. What is happening to the water is the water is soaking into the sugar

Science Experiment

Method:

1. Place the six test tubes in a test tube rack label them one to six.

2. Using the measuring cylinder fill the test tubes with 10 ml (all of them) Using the remaining water fill them all with 5 ml

3. Using your tweezers add a single crystal (The smallest one possible) Into the first liquid

4. Gently sake the test tube until the crystal has dissolved.

5. Using the transfer pipette, carefully remove exactly 5 ml from test tube 1 and pour it into test tube 2

6. Rinse the transfer pipette thoroughly to ensure that no purple solution remains.

7. Gently shake the test tube 2 and repeat the transfer process, transferring 5 ml of solution from test tube 2 to test tube 3.

8. Rinse the pipette again and repeat the transfer process for test tubes 4,5 and 6.

In science, we've been learning about mixtures. So yesterday we put Some purple crystals and then they dissolved into the water and the water became purple. Then got a squeezy thing that sucked up the purple water and then put it into the other test tube with more water in it and so on six times. The purple water got lighter and lighter every time we did it. But ours was different because the second test tube had a chemical in it that made our second one yellow instead of purple but we kept going.

We also learnt what dilution and solution means let me tell you

My Own Crest

In social studies we made our own family crest. 

Mine has a horse, a football, An art symbol and the countries that i'm from. those are in thew four corners. I drew them all myself!

The horses are there because my great great grandparents owned heaps of horses

The art symbol is there because my family is pretty talented in art my dad owns a tattoo shop and my uncle made the logo for anytime fitness.

the football logo is because basically my whole family love football and my great granddad made it into the famous football club called Bolton.

And the names of where i'm from is just what I came up with to show people.

The giver

So we watched a movie in English it was called the giver! I personally thought it was a great movie. So ill tell you a quick summary. So this movie was based in like way in the future where there are communities where they have to take injections, the injections make them forget everything about the past so they don't know what love means or dancing or music, they cant even see colour! or they don't know what murder is and they can only feel a bit of pain. But they think its for their health. That would suck but anyway there was someone that could fix that and he was only like 18 or something. he was called the receiver of the memories, so he could see colour feel love pain everything but he wanted everyone else to feel that. He got told by the giver it was a secret oh and by the way the giver was the only one that knew about all off the memories so he told him everything so he got told that if he passed the point than everything would go back to normal!

I enjoyed the film I though it was very interesting id rate it a 7/10 because the ending was TOO much of a cliff hanger.

I thought that the director's message was that we should be happy of how lucky we are knowing so much stuff and even seeing colour feeling love dancing. We shouldn't take everything for gradate.

Our thoughts on it: So Tammy and I Made chicken stir fry she didn't like the taste because there were too much vegetables for her but I loved it. I usually like a lot of veges.

Ingredients: Two minute noodles, chicken, honey, pepper, soy sauce, lettuce, green beans, and broccoli.

What we could of done better next time is nothing actually I think we did pretty good and worked well as a team!

How do I cope team challenges and how do I relate with others

The way I cope with team challenges is I see the challenge as a fun opportunity to learn from when u make a mistake or if you don't it doesn't matter.

When they feel sad then I go talk to them rather than just ignoring them and I also show them empathy rather than sympathy.
